Word-Light Wednesdays: On The Joys of Gardening, Even In April

First Collards Of Spring

Collard greens that winter-over.
Eating from our little plot even before the lettuce is ready.
The old collards will bolt soon and run to seed, and we will replant.

  1. I loooooove collards! Envious of your community garden space. We have had little success coaxing anything edible out of our teeny tiny backyard patch. But the hostas are unfurling beautifully.

  4. Schroe, I know too well the pain of trying to eke vegetables out of a plot more suited to hostas. Too, too well. Moss snuggling up to tomato plats is never a hopeful sign.
