I gave my stomach a week off to recover from a rough Christmas, but the DHA gel caps are still giving me horrible fish burps. That is just it.
Bean, you are going to have to find a way to be smart without that particular supplement. One more thing to put on your list for therapy.
I like your style. Just start a bulleted list for them now. ;-)
ReplyDeleteIf you really want the benefits of the DHA, avoid the caplets and go to a good supplement store. Get the fish oil supplement and take it by the spoonful. It's oily (of course) bu the good quality stuff does NOT taste fishy (even without the capsule protecting you).
ReplyDeleteI had the same problem, so I always took the pills right before bed and that cut down on the burps.
ReplyDeleteI tried taking those last year(for shiny hair, if I remember correctly) but after the first fish-belch I started putting them on the dogs' food instead. They are certainly silky! And their breath smells terrible no matter what, so no change there.
ReplyDeleteOooh, I've had one get stuck in my throat before and it is yuck. I agree that taking them at bedtime seems to help some, but don't make yourself sick over it.
ReplyDeleteI would recommend refrigerating the fish caps,
ReplyDeletefor some reason when i do that i get a lot less fish burps!
also the brand really matters too, trader joes fish caps when refrigerated never give me burps
I swapped to Prenexa prenatal vitamins, which contain DHA, and it was all much better. They smell like vanilla, which somehow convinces my brain that it's like dessert.
ReplyDeleteI asked my midwife about these, and she just told me to eat fish a couple of times a week. Much tastier. :)
ReplyDeletei think the bean will be okay without the extra DHA...but just in case you can try the enteric coated ones.
