Midwinter

You know it's the dark time of year when you find yourself eating breakfast by candlelight.

Candlelight Breakfast

Those are kitchn's ricotta pancakes, by the way, and quite tasty they were, too.

Hope you are keeping the fires alight -- and dry, fellow New Yorkers.

  3. What I like most in this picture is the cluttered scatter which is clearly the mark of geniuses. At least that's MY excuse for clutter - I'm too focused on Smart Things that I can hardly be bothered with things so trivial as tidiness; I operate better when all the things on my mind are laid out right in front of me.

Wishing you both (all three of you) warmth in this frosty season.

  4. Mmm...pancakes. We made pancakes here this morning (whole wheat with blueberries).

I am SO with you on the whole dark thing. I'm hanging out for the solstice. I know January and February will still be awful and slushy and cold but at least the days will be heading in the right direction.
